Bangalore, April 21, 2009: Air Works- India’s only DGCA approved independent airline MRO- today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kingfisher Airlines – one of India’s largest airlines, for maintenance of one of its ATR 72 aircraft. Under this agreement, Air Works will perform ‘C Checks’ on the Kingfisher ATR at its MRO facility in Hosur, near Bangalore. With this partnership, Air Works becomes the first Indian MRO to do third party Airline Maintenance.

The first aircraft arrived in Hosur on 15 April, 2009 and went for scheduled maintenance. Announcing the agreement, Fredrik Groth, Chief Executive Officer, Air Works said, "We are very pleased to partner with Kingfisher – one of India’s largest airlines for maintenance of its ATR aircraft.  Our partnership comes at a right time when we are promoting India as a future hub of MRO operations. Air Works is expected to receive approval for Boeing 737 heavy maintenance as accorded by DGCA. Air Works Airline MRO has also completed the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) approval requirements and is awaiting audit of the facility by May 2009.
